Working with public sector bodies? Well… now is the time!
Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission, proposed to equip every European village and every city with free wireless Internet access by 2020.
€120 Million funding sat in a pot waiting
The European Commission wishes to promote free Wi-Fi connectivity over Europe for citizens and visitors in public spaces including parks, squares, public buildings, libraries, health centres, and museums. This is the best possible opportunity for you to start working with the public-sector bodies in your local areas ensuring they secure the €15,000 grant the EU Commission is willing to offer them. Public bodies receive free, high-end Wi-Fi installations, and your business continues to grow.
The grants are offered to cover installation costs of the Wi-Fi equipment in public sectors chosen centres – the next batch of vouchers will be distributed in Q1 of 2019.
Nuvias, in collaboration with Nokia, has created a free starter-pack to ensure you are on track to enable channel partners public sector customers to take advantage of the WiFi4EU vouchers.
We will help you secure the funding
By working with Nokia, Nuvias has not only created a free starter pack to advise and ensure you are following the right steps to ensure your customers receive these WiFi4EU vouchers, but will also step in to help with any issues you may encounter.
Nokia’s urban Wi-Fi systems fit perfectly with WiFi4EU
“Small to medium town and city councils at the heart of this initiative have limited IT resources. But that should not deter local authorities from implementing Wi-Fi,” says Olivier Duroyon, Head of Public Sector at Nokia. “We have vast experience and expertise in wireless technologies and offer leading-edge urban Wi-Fi solutions which we can host, secure and manage on behalf of our customers.”
Nokia AirScale Wi-Fi is built around a complete portfolio of latest generation Wi-Fi access points for outdoor and indoor deployment. Nokia can simplify a city’s Wi-Fi network needs, from installing Wi-Fi access points through to managing the network, solving the challenge of lack of resources.
Once an access point has been physically installed on a site, it only needs to be powered on and connected to the internet. The centralized Wi-Fi controller automatically configures and then manages the access point. The controller is most often securely hosted in a Nokia data centre, together with the authentication server.
This arrangement minimises the cities Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and ensures data is secured and handled in accordance with local regulatory requirements. Optimal total cost of ownership and predictable OPEX are achieved through the pay-as-you-grow model, allowing costs to be kept under control.
