Barracuda Boosts Storage Portfolio with Acquisition of C2C Systems and Added Support for Application Availability, Workforce Productivity and Mobility
Barracuda Networks has announced its new Data Protection Plus strategic initiative. It’s aimed at helping customers access, retain and share critical data from any device, anywhere in the world. As part of this new initiative, several major enhancements to Barracuda’s existing cloud-connected backup, archiving and productivity solutions are planned. As well as the acquisition of C2C Systems, a leading provider of information management, PST management email and archiving solutions.

Barracuda Customers can simplify their IT infrastructure and centrally manage all solutions across Barracuda’s range regardless of the size of the deployment and network. Through integrated, easy-to-use web configurable interfaces – customers can centrally manage their network including monitoring and reporting. New Functionality with Data Protection Plus is included at no additional cost to users with current Energize Updates subscriptions.
Protection Plus Availability – Barracuda Backup
Barracuda Backup version 6.0 is ideal for organisations deploying cloud-connected or private “dark” environments that want to add or maintain flexibility. Backup 6.0 includes a number of updates: local control for “dark” environments without sending data to the cloud, faster recovery times of Microsoft Hyper-V virtual machines, and support for Microsoft SQL Server 2014.
Protection Plus Accessibility – Barracuda Message Archiver
Barracuda Message Archiver version 4.0 extends archiving capacity by enabling existing data to be moved or copied to Barracuda Cloud. Version 4.0 also allows users to connect appliances for capacity expansion and federated search to scale and grow with their businesses with minimal resource used. Barracuda Message Archiver requires no additional hardware to deploy.
Protection Plus Information Management – Acquisition of C2C Systems
The acquisition of C2C systems allows Barracuda to offer customers a more complete information management and archiving solution that simplifies IT and costs. Barracuda’s extended archiving portfolio also includes eDiscovery and PST management solutions. acquiring of C2C systems enables Barracuda to eliminate risks involved with distributed PST files and reduce eDiscovery overhead via better information management.
Protection Plus Mobility – Barracuda Copy
The new Copy Site Server is an on-premise device that enables onsite and cloud based files sync to optimise access with security. The solution works with authentication services, including LDAP, for centralised and seamless acess control. The server also offers support for existing file shares with the ability to act as a Local Network Drive.
Protection Plus Productivity – Barracuda SignNow
Barracuda SignNow is a new appliance offering an on-premises device that can enable the sharing, signing and collaborating in a secure environment. A robust eSignature solution on-premises can be deployed for greater control over important documents.
