Recently, Wick Hill made a strong commitment to improve and expand our training facilities for resellers and end users, creating a new custom training centre and hiring 25% more staff for the training division. This focus on training is obviously something that resellers appreciated, as demand for courses is up by an amazing 62%.

Wick Hill provides a range of courses, both in Woking and on customer sites. We are an accredited training centre for most of our suppliers, with the majority of courses being vendor-certificated courses aimed at resellers and end user customers (through reseller partners).

The courses help channel partners improve their product knowledge, fulfil vendor certification requirements and provide improved customer service. For example, training helps partners to improve their margins and progress to higher levels on vendor partner programmes. It also helps equip them with better skills and knowledge, so they can increase revenues by offering additional services such as consultancy and product installation.

Alan Wood, from reseller Rallye Communications, said the WatchGuard three-day Fireware Essentials course was “very beneficial” and “gave an insight into the methodology of how the WatchGuard product range works.” He also said: “It has helped with our speed of response back to customers and I am much more confident now when discussing WatchGuard.”

End user clients are also able to gain greater in-house expertise and get the most from their solution purchase, while individual end users can add to their qualifications. Wick Hill also provides bespoke courses, and courses which resellers can white label and sell on.

Godson Umeh, from reseller Transact Technology Solutions, said the one day Kaspersky Lab course at Wick Hill gave him an “in-depth knowledge of both the Kaspersky Lab product range and technical specifications.” Since attending the course, he has been able to have more in-depth conversations with his customers and is better able to qualify opportunities. He said: “We have seen an increase in close ratios on Kaspersky Lab opportunities and an increase in Kaspersky Lab sales revenues. The guys at Wick Hill have been fantastic and very supportive.”
